Beautiful day for the championship match. Nick ward was getting four shots total. Wethington went one up after the first hole. Nick came back to square the match on the second hole. On the fourth hole craig went one up and won holes 8 and 9 to end the first nine up 3. After an unfortunate mishap on 10 for Craig (hit the wrong ball) Nick was down two after 10 holes of play. Craig came back and won 11 but Nick wouldn’t budge and won holes 12 and 13. Craig won 14 to go two up. The next two holes Nick was bumping and took advantage of those shots and won both those holes. Even after 16 holes. With both players missing the 17th green only, Craig got up and down for par and a one-up lead headed into the last hole. And that last hole was exciting. Craig hit a short drive and struggled to get to the green on his fourth shot. Nick ward was in the green with his approach shot and had a long birdie putt uphill to a back right pin placement. Nick ended up three putting for bogey and Craig was above the hole needing to jar a 5-foot slider for the win. And of course, Craig was solid with his putting stroke and made it for the win. Congratulations Craig.
2-Person Match Play:
I have no play by play report but what I do know is that Haws and Crane came out swinging and didn’t let Lang or Zuck into the match. Final results were 8 & 7.

Brooky Strong (Golden Valley Conference Champions)
vs.
I Like Big Putts (Bassett Creek Conference Champions)
Congrats to the team of Brian Beitlich + Dan Grubb for their run-away win in the 2022 Calcutta. In the Best-Ball format, Dan Grubb, buzzed through the course shooting a Gross 71 / Net 64 (Birdies 1, 3, 5, 16, 18) – in a round where Brian was needed for only one hole – bogey net par on #15. They finished with a 63 on the first 18 holes. On the final Both-Ball format, they finished at +1 for a mind-bending -8 par.
The drama came in 2nd and 3rd place. The teams of Curtis Medina & Yury Millman, John Bolduc & Ted Roberts finished in a tie for 2nd at -4 par. Moving to a new Both-Ball playoff format for this season, the first hole resulted in a tie at +1 for the team. On hole #2, Medina was able to escape the trees left of the green, Millman tapped in and the team finished with a Net Par and won 2nd Place.
4th Place was another playoff. Betting favorites Matt Haws & Peter Crane fought off Michael Saless & Steve Bensen in a one-hole playoff.
The big tournament is here! Break out the piggy bank, make some wagers and let’s see who takes home the big money.
