16-Man Team Still Hot

The 16-Man Team brought the heat in it’s 7/14 match at Brookview. This was the first of the home-and-home second round match with the visiting Ponds at Battle Creek. The boys won 17.5 of the 24 available points on the day, positioning well for the next match on August 4th on the road.

The highlight of the day came out of the Krasen/Gallagher game where the two combined for 8 birdies and a best ball 67 to win a close match against some strong opponents.

If we can keep it going next month, we have a great shot at the playoffs.

16-Man Team Moving On

The Brookview 16-Man Team cruised to victory on Sunday June 2nd at home against an over-powered Meadowbrook squad. After a hot start on the road in the May match, the team only needed 7 points to advance but collected 18.5 on the day.

Highlights: Lunetta/Pacyna posted the low fourball round of 69 with six birdies on the card. Scott Hartmann tossed in a smooth eagle on two and Nick Schultz had the low individual round of the day with a tidy 72.

Great playing by the boys so far this year. Next up is little known Ponds at Battle Creek on the East side. The 9-hole course is not well known on the West side but they smoked Braemar in round one so they should not be taken lightly.

See you on the tee!

16-Man Team off to a Hot Start

Great start for the squad on Sunday, jumping out to a 16-8 lead on the road at Meadowbrook. The boys had to overcome terrible course conditions at Meadowbrook. The greens were ok, but even playing lift, clean and place it was hard to find any grass out there. Hopefully they can grow some grass as we get deeper into the Spring.

Highlight of the day came on the short par 3, 13th hole. Playing about 115 yards with the hole cut on an upslope right behind a bunker, Matt Pacyna knocked it in for an ACE! Even more crazy was that it came after a Meadowbrook player did the same thing just one group earlier! I’ve been playing in these matches for almost 20 years and I don’t even remember another hole-in-one and we had two on the same day. Congrats Matt!

The team is in good position to advance heading home for the next match on June 2nd.
