Week 12 is in the books. Sorry for the delayed post, but I wanted to wait as long as possible to give CTB only an appreviated gratification for taking over the points lead by 1/2 point ahead of Drawshank. That’ll change in two days (if we don’t get rained out). It looks as though it might be only a two horse race for the overall points leader as the spread between 2nd and 3rd is growing. The race for the final wildcard spot is very tight with four teams within 5 points, and the race for the second half winner is still up for grabs as there’s only 7.5 points between first and four other teams.
Please open the link below for a review of the entire league standings and to determine how many points back your team is to a playoff spot. Also, something new this week….. I added additional sheets to the spreadsheet. Each sheet has the net score for every single player each week, and then the final sheet has the totals and average net score for every player in the WNL. Check out your own net scores as well as those on your team. This may help when considering pairings for the playoffs. A brief overview:
The average net score for the league is 37.79; There are 20 guys that have an average net score under par; And last but certainly not least are the top three players in the league with the best average net score per week. Keep in mind that most players have only a tenth of a stroke separating them from their closest piers, so these scores are impressive! Coming in third, nearly 1/2 stroke better than fourth is Bill Guthrie with an average of 34.67. Coming in second, over 1/2 stroke better than Bill is Richard Brower with an average of 34.13. And finally, the top dog with nearly a full stroke separating him and Richard Brower; with nearly 2 full strokes separating him and fourth; and almost a whopping 4 1/2 strokes better than the league average is….. Dylan Niska with an average of 33.33. Dylan is shooting 1/2 a stroke better, per hole, than the average league member. Nice shooting!
And Doherty, the feeling is mutual buddy 😉

We had a great turn out for the event with 10 teams competing for the victory!
The day started out nice but had an ominous feel to it for the later morning. Turned out to be accurate as the tournament was shortened to only 11 holes after the lightning rolled in and the skies opened.
After 11 holes we had a 4 way tie for the lead and the, now eventual winners. The winning score was 71 (-15). Each person on the winning teams will receive $28 in prize chits and earn 56 Cup Points. The winning teams are:
Team #3 – Nelson, Lindstrom, Reuter, Bernardy
Team #4 – Susich, Hamm, Roberts, Bolduc
Team #5 -Stoner, Monogue, Martin Anderson
Team #10 – Grove, Brynteson, Diedrich, Olson
We had 6 hole prizes scheduled, however due to the shortened event, only 3 are eligible for prizes. The winners will receive $10 in chits and the winners are:
Hole #4 – Forrest Nelson (closest to pin)
Hole #5 – Kevin Stoner (long putt)
Hole #7 – Tom Hansen (closest in 2)
Congratulations to all and remember to sign up for the Presidents Cup on August 6th!
On a hot and windy Saturday the Brookview faithful battled through tough conditions for the Greek Scramble title. 10 teams finished within 8 strokes of one another. A testament to the conditions – every neary stake had only 2 names.
Teeing off last were the winners at -1: ($55 & 100 cup points)
Second, one stroke back at Even par ($40 & 75 points)
Tied for third, at one more stroke back at +1 ($14 & 25 points)
The on course prizes were ($10 ea)
Thanks to all who played!
Here is the official BMGA bracket for 2016 2 man competition.
If you are playing on Saturday, expect to see a tee time email soon.
