15 days after the WNL Finals, the post is finally here!!  Last year’s runner up, Drawshank Redemption vs. this year’s Cinderella story, WTF.  Up for grabs? This trophy:

and eternal glory… and $35 in chits, per player.

WTF was off to a slow start, while Drawshank was pretty steady after Match 1.  Match 1 was Josh Mueller & Phil Berndt (Drawshank) vs. Dick Koppy & Nate Host (WTF).  Mueller fired a net 35 against Koppy’s net 38 taking home 6 points.  Berndt fired a net 36 against Host’s net 40 taking home 7 points.  13 to 7 after match one in favor of Drawshank.  The trend continued after Match 2. Meder fired a net 34 with a double bogie on the last hole, while his opponent Joe Larson fired a net 36. Meder took home 6.5 points. Maday played without error in the first 5 holes, then came back to earth on the final four, but still shot a net 32 against Mayberry’s net 37.  Maday took home 7 points, and after the first two matches, Drawshank was up 26.5 to 13.5.

WTF tried to turn things around in Match 3. Peyer, net 35, overtook Hengel, net 37 and Riggs needed almost all of his net 31 to take down Osborn’s net 33.  WTF took home 12 to Drawshank’s 8.  Coming into the final group, Drawshank was up 34.5 to 25.5.  Chris Garcia and Rob Wise put up net 35 and net 36 respectively, but couldn’t overcome the deep hole they were in. Mike Ryan fired a net 37 and Matt Pacyna finished up with a net 32. After the dust settled, Drawshank avenged their second place finish from last year, and took home the title, winning 45.5 to 33.5 over WTF.

Congratulations to all this year and make sure to put the year-end banquet on your calendar.
