Well Momma Nature tried her best to completely ruin another night of WNL…and I suppose for those of you with later tee times, it pretty much was ruined – I feel for you, but am so pumped we got it in. We did have 4 matches that did not completely finish (one match had 2 holes left; three matches had 1 hole left) because the horn blew because of something called a tornado warning. Whatever a tornado is. The Board voted and we will be counting ALL matches -I halved the missing holes by essentially following this rule: https://www.usga.org/HandicapFAQ/handicap_answer.asp?FAQidx=8
So if you did not finish, you can still post your score using the above rule – if unsure, please reach out to me or your captain.
CTB scored 44.5 against Bald Man Brewing Co while Foreplay stumbled with 36 points against Loopers, which means CTB have inched to within 15.5 points of the Division lead. They lead the Wildcard in the BCC by 5 over Young Gunz, who scored 40.5 this week.
WTF is creeping up on Division leader Range Balls – they gained 2.5 points to get to 6.5 points back from the lead.
With two make-up weeks left to go, there are still opportunities to sneak into the playoffs!
As for the MVP race – Dylan Niska just doesn’t take any weeks off unless forced to by rain, and is sitting in the lead at 76 total points! Craig Wethington is in 2nd with 69.5 points, and Richard Courtney sits in 3rd with 67.5.
Remember the Top 12 point-getters (using your best 10 weeks) also make it to the Shootout. That list is on the recap link above, but doesn’t take into account anyone who may make into the Shootout with BMGA Cup points (weekend events).

Regarding the boards decision to halve the last 2 holes of last nights unfinished matches.
1. This decision shows a disregard for the BMGA guide regarding rainouts.
2. Points are the determining factor for making or missing the playoffs. Please consider the following: If your going to halve the holes for the unfinished matches, perhaps you should halve the last 2 holes for all of the matches, or all matches are scored after seven (7) holes, and use the USGA’s method for posting scores of unfinished holes.
I completely understand that the weather this year has already caused 3 weeks of turmoil, Thank you Brookview for allowing BMGA to extend our season and makeup 2 of the 3 weeks that were previously rained out. Hopefully we’ll be able to get them in.
Love the thoughts and concern, thank you! We will look into updating the League Guide for next season as we always do when these rare issues come up, but the current language states* that the entire week should be voided. Since we had all but a handful of matches completely finish, we thought that was a bit extreme and we voted on how to handle – it didn’t make sense to take points off the board, so we chose to adjust the few matches that nearly finished.
I hope everyone speaks up and lets us know what they think – I also encourage people to throw their name into the hat to join the Board and help us make this the best league in all of the land!
*Rainout Rule as stated in the League Guide:
In the event of a rain out occurring mid round, meaning the siren has sounded and half the field has finished play while the other half is still playing, all matches will be voided and no points will be awarded.
