It was another gorgeous evening for golf – I either have a case of selective memory or we’ve had a great run of weather this year. Anyhoo, Round 1 is in the books. And the books are not in the drama genre, because the matches weren’t exactly nail biters. Either horror or comedy depending on your point of view.
I Like Big Putts defeats Mid-Round Crisis 42.5-37.5. Captain Howard Hoffman used a rarely used intimidation technique: throwing balls (ok, 1 ball) at his competition (ok, me) while on the driving range…this clearly motivated his team to step it up and beat the team that stole the Division from them. Sheldon Silberman has been playing out of his mind down the stretch, and is the top point earner with 8.5. Well played, boys, was fun battling you all year.
WTF lays a smackdown against Team Hack Attack with a 48-32 victory. The 2017 WNL Champs wore red shirts to hide the blood of their victims. Wow, that was a weird comment…maybe they just like the color red. Kyle Haab lead the team with 8.5 points. Congrats to Andy Kim and your squad for extending your season.
Round 2 (aka The Semi-Finals) will be played on 9/12 – we’re taking a week break due to aeration and to catch our breath:
