Dear BMGA Members and hopeful members,
With the recent events around COVID-19 the BMGA board has been in discussion on how to proceed with the 2020 season. Our plan is to hold our spring meeting and all scheduled events as planned. If the City of Golden Valley decides to close Brookview, we will follow suit and cancel any meetings or league play/ tournaments scheduled during that time frame. The spring meeting is not a requirement for anyone to attend, but please be sure to have your application submitted to us by March 18th 2020. (This is required for any returning or new members.)
Our hope, for the well-being of all members and the 2020 season, is that COVID-19 will be under control and activities will go back to normal sooner rather than later. With that in mind, in the event our spring meeting is delayed/cancelled, due to Brookview closing, we will continue to move forward with league planning and filling the membership. The board will continue to work and notify all members via email. After the spring meeting the next event is the Captain’s Draft, which will also be held at Brookview. If Brookview is closed, we will move ahead with the draft via emails among the captains and notify all members of their team assignments prior to our spring social event. (We may decide to limit the Captain’s Draft to only the 16 captains and required board members if Brookview remains open.)
As time gets closer to the start of league play in late April we will continue to make adjustments as needed. Our intent is getting in our entire season, even if we need to start a little late due to circumstances beyond our control.
If at any time you don’t feel well or don’t feel it is safe for you to attend a meeting at Brookview please do not attend! There are no meetings that require your attendance and we are very flexible to communicate via email, and the website, to keep all members informed.
