Before I get to the prediction segment…we need to address Roger’s first email today. Nick Ward was quoted…”Who is playing for 2nd place!” Looks like Richard is his A player…the guy that won 8-9 tourneys last year. I don’t think Nick is making that same comment with the likes of a Slivken or a Hamm on the team! lol

Some very interesting teams. Here are my Top 4 in no particular order:

*I’m not familiar with Mr. Fiebig’s game…but Jordan, Smith and Hop on the same team is criminal…just criminal I say!
*Experience…Steichen, Roberts, Silberman and Bensen…a ton of course knowledge folks.
*Towey, Shellenbaum, Lange and Aamot…Aamot always finds the money!
*Defending champ…yes…yours truly. Mangold, Hahka, Dvorak…and the secret weapon…Mr. Bolduc!

Some Greek History: Speaking of Mr. Aamot…18 years ago I partnered with Tom, Jim Woessner (Big Sexy) and Sammy Thrune. Who remembers Sam? Unfortunately…I believe Sam passed several years ago. Sam was like a 30 handicap. You had to use everyone’s drive at least six times…and you used two drives per hole…so that’s 36 opportunities. We were playing well but Sammy was struggling off the tee. Through 16 holes…that’s 32 opportunities…as hard as we tried…we could only find four occasions to use his drive. That obviously put us in a pickle…in the hunt…but having to use his drives on 17 and 18. Needless to say…based on what happend the previous 4 1/2 hours…we were not to optimistic. What does Sammy do on 17…on the green! What does he do on 18 with OB and water lurking…down the middle! The victory was ours. Talk about giggling our way to the clubhouse. To this day…I have no idea how he could not touch a fairway for 16 holes and pull that off. He was quite the character!
