One more week and the first half of the season is already over! Finding themselves in primo position is Six Pack, taking a 9 point victory from the former top dog, Drawshank Redemption. Caught up in the mix is Young Gunz pulling in their 5th 40+ point week in a row. Six Pack has a 2.5 point lead over 2nd Place Young Gunz with Drawshank falling back, 6 points out of first. The biggest jumper this week was Hack Attack, jumping up 4 spots, from 15th to 11th with 42.5 points. Next week Six Pack plays Range Balls, who by every account is deep into a slump, scoring their third 20-something point week in a row. Young Gunz is up against Foreplay and Drawshank is up against Drive 4 Show. The top spot of the first half gets a guaranteed spot in the playoffs!
The two man low net game yielded the lowest score of the season, and with that, the biggest “sandbagger” awards go to Steven Haik & Dave Bialke, shooting a 65 on the front. Of course I’m kidding, nice rounds gentlemen. The low net round goes to Hoffman’s partner, Sandy Barin, shooting a 30 and winning them second place in the two man low net game. It’s about time somebody picked up for Hoffman’s slack. And rounding out third, each with a birdie on the last hole, was Mike Ryan and Meder. In addition to putting Ryan & Meder into the 3rd spot of the two man low net game, Ryan’s putt on number 9 gave him the long putt flag event and put him atop the low gross, by one shot, over Andy Kim, who also made long putt on his last hole, number 18….. there must be a correlation between making putts and shooting low.
Maday put his name back in the spotlight winning closest in two on hole one, and he didn’t even need to make a deuce to win it this time. Kelly Gallagher prevented Hoffman from getting closest to on hole 4 for the 3rd week in a row. Kelly’s shot was great and all, but Hoffman did play the back this week, so…. Anyway, I don’t have any stories about the rest of the flag events because I didn’t see them, so until next week!
