Although chilly and a little foggy early in the morning, we had a great day to play our first round matches. The course was a little soft, which is expected this early in the season, but the greens rolled really well. You were rewarded with well-stroked putts. Some highlights of the day included an even par 72, low round of the day by Tom Hansen. Jeff Towey was threatening a lawsuit if his CTP’s on #6 and #12 were not winners. Don’t worry Jeff – no lawsuit necessary. Our website guru, Richard Brynteson, fired a 74 (though he complained about his three 3-putt greens). One of the all-time chit winners in the history of the BMGA, Stan Hop, did not advance. Go figure. The team of Jacobs / Zuck defeated Hahka / Paquette in extra holes. The team of Sutton / Gnerer came back from 4 down with 5 to play to win their match. And it sounds like Maday / Steichen ham and egged well enough to defeat Shellenbaum / Bernardy. The contest winners:
CTP #4 – Dan Peters $10 CTP in 2 #6 – Jeff Towey $10 CTP #8 – Matt Grove $10
CPT #12 – Jeff Towey $10 Long Putt #14 – Mark Kraus $10 CTP #17 – Pete Steichen
