Three of the matches went extra holes (click for more)
Connor Paulsen (in his 2nd straight extra hole event) & John Bolduc vs Brad Ryan & Wade Warden
This match was tight all day, with only 3 holes won on the front and 5 on the back.
Winners in 19 holes: Ryan/Warden
Brad Ryan parred 17 to go 1 up, then both Paulsen & Bolduc get net Birdies on 18 to send the match to OT.
They teed off on #1 in the playoff and Warden was the only one stroking. He found a way to a 5, net 4 and neither Paulsen or Bolduc could match that.
Jeff Olson & Sheldon Silberman vs Steve Shellenbaum & Chuck Bernardy
Olson & Silberman did some great Ham & Egg work on the first 9 to go 2 up at the turn. It stayed that way until Bernardy parred #12 for a win to get it to 1 down. Then Jeff Olson gets net pars on 14 & 15 to go dormie – 3 up with 3 to play. The awoke the monster. Bernardy & Shellenbaum win 16, then Steve pars 17 & 18 (net birdie) to halve the match.
Shellenbaum / Bernardy in 19
In OT, they played the 10th hole with Olson & Shellenbaum getting strokes. Shellenbaum bogeyed it and the net 4 was good enough for four straight hole wins and the victory.
Eric Fryc & Anthony Quintero vs Brent Lindstrom & John Von Eschen
Another tight match with only 8 holes won in the first 18.
Quintero & Fryc in 23
Quintero & Fryc were 2 up on the 11th tee when Lindstrom bags a net birdie to halve the lead. Then he is the only one to par #14 to tie the match. It remains tied with net pars the rest of the regular 18.
They tee off on 10 for the tie breaker.
Fryc & Von Eschen exchange pars on 10 & 11. All four par #12. Fryc and Lindstrom exchange pars on #13.
Then on the 23rd hole only 1 par is made. Fryc with his 8th straight par for the win.
On course prizes are below. I have no idea how P. Hoffman won a proxy on #13. First group out, the ball was miles from the hole and no one else hit the green all day? So disappointed in you guys!
That said, his proxy on #8 was mere inches from a $BIG Payday$
