Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day on the golf course when over 50 BMGA members tee’d it up for the 2026 Lone Ranger.
Overall the scores posted were low as expected with near ideal conditions, though some pin placements gave players fits.
The low net of the day went to Paul Yakshe with a net 67, several other players shot sub 70 net scores to follow closely behind him.
Low gross went to Eric Fryc carding a 76, with 3 other players following him at 78.
Team 2 started hot out of the gates carding a net 6 under in the first 3 holes, ultimately finishing the front at net 8 under par. While they continued to grind it out on the back the later teams tee’d off. There were no real positive fireworks of note until the last group. Who after also starting out 6 under through three, turned the jets on and finished the front at net 12 under par.
The back 9 was where the shakeups happened. Some teams charged with low scores bringing them into the money list with scores as low as net 7 under. The leaders in the clubhouse (Hoffman, Martin, Nordstrom and Hanson) shot a solid 6 under on the back, bringing them to net 14 under for the tournament.
After playing hole 12 the anchor team of Brynteson, Chappell, Stoner and Silberman held a 2 shot over the field. The heat must have gotten to them though, as the next 5 holes were played at 1 over par net. It all came down to the last hole where the final team held a 1 shot lead until teeing off… unfortunately for the final team this is where the Lone Ranger format is challenging, with that player carding a double and no pars on the card for the team on 18, they fell back to a tie for first, splitting the pot at a final score of -14 under par.
Lot’s of skins payouts for this tournament! If you have a skin please see me Wednesday at league and I can give you the envelope of cash you won.
