ParticipantWe’re a week past the mid-way point of the season, but with the upcoming week off…and the overall downtime/boredom I’m facing…I figure it’s time to predict the final WNL results. It should be noted I have zero idea what’s going on besides the latest Team Standings grid so if you take my words too seriously that’s on you, bud.
The GVC West is just elite, no other way to describe it, so I’ll start there. It’s the Premier League full of studs – 3 of the 4 teams currently sit above 420 points, which you just have to trust me when I say is very good. We have Brooky Strong leading the charge with a commanding 20.5 and 22 point lead over Team Hack Attack and Par Then Bar. All three of these teams are making the playoffs, and don’t see captain Jeff Martin screwing this one up – Brooky takes the #1 seed.
GVC East is currently led by the reigning WNL Champions, Who’s Your Caddy, with a 24 point lead over Corey Smith’s Let’s Go Firebirds (I don’t get the name, either, you’re not alone). Can Smith inspire his team to overtake Shellenbaum and his Caddy team? Dear reader, he cannot – Who’s Your Caddy wins the division and have a shot at defending their title.
The BCC South has two recent champions in CTB (won in 2018) and Bald Man Brewing Co. (our 2020 champs), but nobody is challenging Bald Man, who is currently 34.5 points ahead of Foreplay. Like I said, I have zero insight into matchups and close calls, but feel like Foreplay, could make a run and challenge The Baldies but don’t think they’ll be able to catch them. Bald Man wins the division and Foreplay tries to make a run for a wild card spot with some inspired play down the stretch.
The BCC North has a verrrrry close battle going on between two more recent champions – I Like Big Putts (2022) is 4 points ahead of Fairway 2 Heaven (2019) after a win this week. It certainly feels like these two will be fighting the rest of the season and I don’t think it will be settled until the final week when they…get this…they play each other. I predict the winner to be Fairway with Big Putts taking the 1st wild card slot. And of course nobody will argue that Mid-Round Crisis will hang around and take the 2nd wild card spot because they got that dawg in ‘em.
Final Predictions
GVC West Winner: Brooky Strong
GVC East Winner: Who’s Your Caddy
Wild Card #1: Team Hack Attack
Wild Card #2: Par Then BarBCC South Winner: Bald Man Brewing Co.
BCC North Winner: Fairway 2 Heaven
Wild Card #1: I Like Big Putts
Wild Card #2: Mid-Round CrisisChampionship Matchup: Brooky Strong vs. I Like Big Putts
Yada yada yada, you’re 2024 WNL Champions will be….
Brooky Strong
Both these teams are just filled with laid back bros who know how to shake off pressure like a dog shaking off the rain. I can see them all competing really hard against each other and then chilling together at a bbq listening to Hall & Oats while sipping THC seltzers. Hope I get invited to that bbq.
What’d I screw up?

ParticipantUmm, yeah…about that.
You got the elite GVC West right. but forgot the cellar dwellers at 397.5 points. They have played the best in the league this year and lost some tight matches. But with some great leadership you will have Dukes of Hazards climbing from the dust to grab a wildcard spot.Love the thought process.

ParticipantI like the perspective, Brad. With Hack Attack (my team) in GVW, there’s a target on Brooky Strong (especially Jeff Martin and his visor). Despite Hack Attack holding the #1 seed last year, we were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Making the playoffs opens the door to anything happening.
I believe Brooky Strong is favored for the #1 seed, but I predict they’ll stumble in the first round, much like the overrated Cowboys did last year.
GVE, I agree with Who’s Your Caddy; they’re a solid playoff team.
BCN, I think Curt and Fairway 2 Heaven will narrowly beat ILBP, especially since I’m a Zeppelin fan.
BCS, Bald Man seems like a lock unless they have a major letdown.
Cutting to the chase, I’m picking Fairway 2 Heaven to come out on top, with Hack Attack making a strong run!

ParticipantLet’s check in to see how I did (spoiler, I got all the playoff teams correct – B+ effort I think):
Predictions (from 6/27) with Notes (from 9/5)
GVC West Winner: Brooky Strong
– Fell 12.5 points short of the Division winners, Team Hack Attack, but are the 1st Wild Card team.GVC East Winner: Who’s Your Caddy
– Oh yeah, finished 35 points clear. Nicely done, fellas.Wild Card #1: Team Hack Attack
– Cap’n Brett said there was a target on Brooky Strong, and he was right – Hack Attack jumped Brooky Strong to take the West Division by 12.5 points.Wild Card #2: Par Then Bar
– Was a close finish with Dukes of Hazards chasing, but Par Then Bar hung on and get in by 6 points.Gotta give it up to GVC West – that Division is a FORCE. Three of the four teams will make the playoffs, with Dukes just missing out – worth mentioning that the Dukes’ 744 total points was 4th best overall in the league and they missed the playoffs. It happens, just sucks when it happens to your team…feel for you boys!
To the BCC:
BCC South Winner: Bald Man Brewing Co.
– Looking strong, finishing 68 points ahead of 2nd place Foreplay and finishing 2nd in total points with 768.BCC North Winner: Fairway 2 Heaven
– Howie took offense to this prediction and rallied Big Putts to take the Division by 46 points and lead the league with 785.5 points.Wild Card #1: I Like Big Putts
– See above, and Fairway 2 Heaven wins the 1st wild card slot easily.Wild Card #2: Mid-Round Crisis
– Never a doubt – after week 14 they were 28.5 points clear of Foreplay for this spot and entered week 18 only 9 points ahead but Mid-Round snuck in and look forward to playing their rival, Big Putts.Good luck to all the playoff bound teams, and thanks to Kirk for the prompt scoring each week!
