I do not yet see the 2017 League Guide posted. I assume the rules for the gold tees remains as stated in the 2016 guide? Since iI ave graduated to this elite status I am more interested in the exact rules.

I read that the player teeing up on the gold gives the opponent player teeing up on the whites one stroke. The posted course rating sheet list a column for both white and gold. I assume this chart already reflects the one stroke per nine rule? Can you play whites one week and gold on a different night?

Same rules in all weekend tournaments?

Anyone want to speculate on the the advisability of this option?

Hi Sheldon. The 2017 league guide is now posted. http://bmga.org/files/2010/10/2017_League_Guide.pdf Here are the details in that section: If you play the gold tees, this must be marked on the scorecard.

Super-seniors (65+) with an USGA index of 16 or higher will have the option of playing from the gold tees during all BMGA events.
    ? 9 hole (WNL) events:
o Use the correct 9 hole course handicap calculation using the method approved in 2013. (see tables at the back of this guide)
o If the Gold tee player plays a white tee player, the white tee player is to add one handicap stroke for the 9 hole match.
o This extra stroke will not count for the weekly games, but for the match only.
? WNL director will ensure this is accounted for.
o This stroke is due to the difference in the 9 hole course rating between the Gold and White tees, and is the USGA approved method. (see above)
