Welcome to this special edition of the weekly results for the Wednesday Night Men’s League. Many things to discuss, but first and foremost, congratulations to Steve Shellenbaum for an ACE on hole 12! Right now he is in sole possession of the hole-in-one purse, totaling just under $1,000. Last week he was closest in two on hole 11…. So, for now, we are calling this Shellenbaum’s corner.
Next, check out the updated spreadsheet here: Week 11 Report
The top three teams hold on to their spots even though none were able to score more than 40 points this week. Drawshank maintains a 4.5 point season-long lead over CTB, followed by Young Gunz, who is now 16.5 points behind Drawshank. Zedjlik’s team was able to follow up last week’s 45 with a stellar 44. They have now taken sole possession of the 2nd-half lead, 4 points ahead of The Loop. Unfinished Business was the biggest jumper this week, scoring 49 points and jumping from 11th to tied for 3rd for the 2nd-half crown.
The scoring was relatively high this week, not surprisingly, due to the high winds. However, Joe Larson rolled in 5 birdies, one short of the BMGA 9-hole record, shooting a 33, tying this season’s low round and beating his next closest competitors by 3 strokes (Supalla and Lunetta).
Finally, I’ve compiled a number of stats: The average net score on the back nine is: 37.76. The average net score on the front nine is: 37.67. There have been 629 rounds played on the back and 633 rounds on the back. The lowest net score on the back is a 27 by Ben Raak on 6/15, followed by Dylan Niska with a 29, also on 6/15. The highest is a four way tie at 47. The lowest net score on the front is a 29 by Ben Raak on 6/29 followed by two 30’s by William Guthrie and Rick Verlo. The highest is a 49 followed by a number of 48’s. Below is the hole-by-hole scores for each and every player and for every week. I’m not excel proficient enough to figure out how to determine everyone’s average net scores, avearage net opponent scores, etc…. but I’ll let you guys take a crack at it.
