Impacts of Weather

Because of inclement weather, only four teams (1, 8, 10 and 14) finished all of their rounds. Twelve (12) teams were unable to finish. As a result, the Board voted to use the results from all 52 matches completed as well as the results from the 12 matches that were not completed. This was accomplished by “halving” all of the holes that were not completed in the 12 matches impacted by weather. Ten of the incomplete matches did not complete two holes while two matches did not fully complete three holes.

The following weekly prizes will not be awarded because all players did not have the opportunity to compete for the prize because they did not complete the hole or their round:

1. Low and Gross Skins
2. Nearies on Holes 8 and 17
3. Longest putts on Holes 9 and 18

The Board will be meeting on May 18. Player safety and inclement weather conditions are on the agenda.

Reminder: Pace of Play is critical to the enjoyment of all. I teed off at 5:50 p.m. and was very impressed with the pace of play as we rarely had to wait for the group in front of us until Hole 7 when the weather started to impact play. Hopefully the speedier pace of play will continue in Week #4 and beyond!

Housekeeping

Scorecards

• Please write down your tee time (e.g. 3:30, 3:40, etc.) and team number (e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc.).
• Clarity and Legibility Standards – Penmanship suffered in Week #3. If your handwriting isn’t that good perhaps someone else in your foursome can keep score.

Handicaps

• The BMGA Modified Scoring System will be used for one more week. Starting on Week #5, anyone without a USGA Handicap Index will play as a scratch golfer (Handicap = Zero).
• Please post your scores for WNL as they are not entered by the BMGA or Brookview. This is especially critical when you shoot the “round of your life.”
• The WNL Director is not responsible for checking the accuracy of the player’s handicap on the scorecards. Check the GHIN App before teeing off to get your current handicap and adjust it to the Side (Front or Back) and Tees (Member or Gold).
