Registration for the 2023 BMGA Season

There are some changes with how registration will occur in 2023 and we want to make sure that everyone knows the process.

Priority 1 Registration – February 1st to 14th

All returning WNL members, including those returning due to injury, and new Golden Valley residents need to register during this window. Payment is not due until March 15th, but registration MUST be completed during this window.

An online registration form will be made available just prior to the start of the registration window. All members are encouraged to use the online registration form although a paper form will also be available.

Any existing WNL Player or new Golden Valley member who DOES NOT register during this registration window must wait until the Priority 3 registration.

If the league has not reached 192 members, then.

Priority 2 Registration – February 15th to 21st

Returning BMGA Weekend Only members, who would like to now play in the BMGA WNL, are eligible for register for WNL. The BMGA board will reach out to these members – there are approximately 10 to 15 each year.

If the league has not reached 192 members, then.

Priority 3 Registration – February 22nd until closed

At this point in time, we will have a fixed number of slots remaining open. History tells us that it will be between 10 to 15 spots. Players, regardless of city, are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Once we have reached 192 players, new registration will be informed that they can join the Weekend League and be put on the waiting list for 2023.

The rationale for this change is we used to leave registration window open for 8 to 10 weeks for registration, including returning WNL, new Golden Valley members and new non-Golden Valley members. This caused new non-Golden Valley Members, who registered on the first day, to have to wait 8 to 10 weeks for us to tell them they were not going to be accepted. Instead, after three weeks, we will now have a specific number of new players accepted and can immediately inform people if they have been accepted to the league or not.

As always, if you have any questions about this policy change and the process moving forward, please do not hesitate to ask.

2022 Thanks

Dear BMGA,
As the calendar year winds down, I wanted to thank you all on a great 2022 BMGA season.

*** First, however, I want to remind you that there are registration changes happening in 2023 – see the post below this (or check out https://bmga.org/2022/11/06/plan-for-the-2023-bmga-season) for what those changes are please and thank you!!! ***

Thank you to the 2022 Board – Chuck Bernardy, Richard Brynteson, Erik Swanson, Howard Hoffman, Ramiro Sifuentes, Larry Jocelyn, Sheldon Silberman, Kirk Williams, and Tim Lueder – without the efforts of these guys this league would not function as well as it does. Each of them really showed how much they care about the league in all the work they put in behind-the-scenes as well as during league play. I wouldn’t call board meetings ‘exciting’ but with this group they were definitely not boring and were always productive, which is awesome. Thank you fellas!

Thank you to Brookview – Ben Disch and his team are always so accommodating to the BMGA, and it has been a pleasure dealing with everyone in the offices, in the shop, and on the course. And the folks at Three One Six do an amazing job each Wednesday and after weekend events, which is much appreciated.

Finally, thank YOU – I appreciate all the feedback/suggestions/rants/questions/push-back I received face-to-face or through the grapevine this year. The many discussions really highlight how much people care about making this league great, and those discussions make our league really special. I strongly encourage anyone to get involved with the board, but regardless – keep speaking up and sharing your thoughts, it is your league after all!

It was a great year and I’m looking forward to 2023!

Best,
Brad Jordan
