52 golfers tee’d it up on a beautiful Saturday morning at Brookview to compete in the Rotation. This is a challenging format that always produces some drama during the last 6 holes!
The first 6 holes of scramble golf saw a tight field – with two teams (Fryc + Haws and Hop + Bernardy) carding 21, or net 4 under par. 8 teams carded 22’s and the rest of the field was split between 23, 24, and 25.
Moving into the best ball portion things started to shake loose, Morse + Krueger carded a 17 for a net -5 while Von Eschen + Lindstrom and Smith + Monro put up respectable 18’s. Fryc + Haws kept the pressure on with a 19, while Hop + Bernardy took a wrong turn somewhere and put up a 25 or +3 for the Best Ball portion.
The alternate shot portion of the event saw the leaders grouped tightly together with groups at 39, 40 and 41 for the first half. Morse + Krueger held the early lead, followed by Fryc + Haws, Tornes + Gotlieb and Sifuentes + Silberman.
As it often does, the alternate shot holes ultimately told the story for the tournament. Morse + Krueger stumbled their way in carding a +5 30, while a missed putt cost Sifuentes + Silbmerman dearly giving them an even 25 on the last 6 holes. There was a late charge by Rajkowski + Bellestri putting up an impressive 3 under 22, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to catch up Fryc + Haws who ended their round with a -1 24 and took home the title.
