We are half-way through the regular season! In the Bassett Creek Conference, Mid-Round Crisis (11) is leading the North Division and is the conference current number 1 seed. Bald Man Brewing (15) leads the South Division and is the current #2 seed in the conference. Rounding out two available wild cards in the BCC are Last Call (5) and Fairway 2 Heaven (2).
Team Hack Attack (3) is leading the entire league with 388.5 points. They lead the West Divisions and are the current #1 Seed in the Golden Valley Conference. Who’s Your Caddy (6) leads the GVC East Division and holds the distinction of recording the highest weekly point total this year with a 50 point victory this week. Rounding out the GVC wild cards at the half way point are Brooky Strong (4) and 9th Green at 9 (9).
Interesting fact: through the first half we have recorded 1,151 9-hole rounds and average 46.7 gross and 39.1 net.
Remember:
- If you are not scheduled to golf on any particular night, we can use you as a spotter. It can help with pace of play. To spot, just report to the pro shop and let them know and you’ll get a cart and flags for marking the ball. Common holes for spotting are #2, #3, #14, and #16.

Weekly WNL Director Stats
- Legibility was really good again this week – great job scorekeepers! Here is a listing of the the problems that slow down score entry:
- Number cards without finish time: Front: 2, Back: 4
- Cards with folds across scores: Front: 5, Back: 5
- Cards with addition errors: Front: 3, Back: 0
- Cards missing team numbers or full names: Front: 0, Back: 0
- Starting Tee times were on 32 of 32 matches. (Please enter the scheduled tee time, not your actual time to tee off.)
- Pace of play – The front and back finished in 2:30 minutes – a bit off our average about 2:20. Keep working on it and keep your foursome on the heals of the group in front of you – everyone will appreciate your efforts! More spotters might help – volunteer if you can!
If you like how the league is going – tell each other about it. If you are unhappy about something – tell a board member. (Feel free to drop a comment on the web site if you have ideas, concerns or comments.)
Weekly Reminders
- If an issue arises on the course during WNL play that may impact the result of a match, please bring the matter to the WNL Director’s (or other BMGA Board Member) attention so we can try to resolve it right away.
- If you are in the last group (6 PM tee time) please collect the on course flags when you leave the hole and put them in the bucket on the deck at the end of your round.
Scorecards
- Please enter both the match start time and end time in the space provided. Make sure every bank on the card is filled in.
- Scorecards should be signed by at least one player from each team.
- Please don’t fold the card where scores are entered – this really impacts legibility.
- If someone concedes a hole, please mark an “X.” This is especially important when both players score a 9 but the hole is conceded by the player who picks up their ball first.
So in doing some quick math for the 1/2 way point:
Bassett Creek Conference record : 28-43-1 (39.6%)
Golden Valley Conference record: 41-28-3 (59.4%)
Average pts per week by division
BCC North 39.8
BCC South 38.7
GVC East 40.2
GVC West 41.0
Time for a little shake up next year?
Isn’t that purpose of eliminating (or losing) five players from your roster each year and conducting a quality draft? Just a thought Captain Hamm (LOL).
It doesn’t appear to be working, does it? Captains re-draft the same cores guys in the first couple of rounds. Now, if we didn’t have that new draft rule in place…
There has been talk of mixing up the divisions – maybe that will have an impact?
