WNL Week 11 Results (7/12/23)

A beautiful night for golf and the course is lush and green – Conditions that should result in some low scores. The only changes in standings were in the GVC East division where 9th Green at 9 moved ahead of Let’s Go Firebirds even though both teams won. The division leaders continue to lead. The wild-card chase continues to tighten with two teams, 9th Green at 9 and Sons of Parnarchy tied for the second spot in the GVC – and these two teams play each other next week!

Team Hack Attack (3) is still leading the entire league with 470 points but Brooky Strong is only 6 points back with a 2023 league high 51.5 point win this week over Foreplay.

Peter Crane moved back into the lead for our WNL MVP leader with 59.5 points and a 6.0 scoring average. The top 12 qualify for the season-ending Shootout.

Remember:

  • If you are not scheduled to golf on any particular night, we can use you as a spotter. It can help with pace of play.   To spot, just report to the pro shop and let them know and you’ll get a cart and flags for marking the ball. Common holes for spotting are #2, #3, #14, and #16. Or you can range around helping the groups that are slow catch up.

Weekly WNL Director Stats

  • Legibility was really good again this week – great job scorekeepers! Here is a listing of the the problems that slow down score entry:
    • Number cards without finish time: Front: 1, Back: 3
    • Cards with folds across scores: Front: 0, Back: 5
    • Cards with missing or addition errors: Front: 3, Back: 2
    • Cards missing team numbers or full names: Front: 2, Back: 1
    • Starting Tee times were on 32 of 32 matches. (Please enter the scheduled tee time, not your actual time to tee off.)
  • Pace of play – The front finished in 2:20 – but was running at under 2:15 until the last four groups. Great pace folks! The back finished in 2:30 minutes – typical. Keep working on it and keep your foursome on the heals of the group in front of you – everyone will appreciate your efforts! Thanks for all the volunteer spotters and rangers this week – volunteer if you can!

Weekly Reminders

  1. If an issue arises on the course during WNL play that may impact the result of a match, please bring the matter to the WNL Director’s (or other BMGA Board Member) attention so we can try to resolve it right away.
  2. If you are in the last group (6 PM tee time) please collect the on course flags when you leave the hole and put them in the bucket on the deck at the end of your round.
  3. Post your score! (The league does not post for you). We highly recommend hole-by-hole posting as it does a better job of calculating your proper ESC score.

Scorecards

  • Please enter both the match start time and end time in the space provided. Make sure every bank on the card is filled in.
  • Scorecards should be signed by at least one player from each team.
  • Please don’t fold the card where scores are entered – this really impacts legibility.
  • If someone concedes a hole, please mark an “X.”  This is especially important when both players score a 9 but the hole is conceded by the player who picks up their ball first.
