Anyone participated in the MPGA Mid-Am events before? I was thinking of maybe trying to play in one of the qualifying events for fun but if I go out and shoot an 80 am I going to have egg thrown at me for months on end? Anyone else thinking of trying? (https://www.mngolf.org/Tournaments/archive)
I couldn’t agree more with Hendy. The mid-am’s are much more laid back than the open events too. There are typically a very wide variety of scores in the qualifiers and 80 is probably a couple strokes higher than average of the field, nothing to be embarrassed about. Plus, the more you play in those events the more you get accustomed to the feel of tournament play.
