Last Week’s Recap (Playoff Edition):
Drive 4 Show has a playoff spot all wrapped up after winning the first half by 1 point over Drawshank Redemption.
For the second half trophy, the top three ranked teams all scored 62.5 or more last week to separate themselves from the rest of the pack but not from each other. Team Hack Attack hangs on to a slim lead, over Drawshank Redemption (-2) and Young Gunz (-4.5). Drawshank has a chance to redeem itself from the first half loss in the last week to Drive 4 Show, as they are matched up with Hack Attack in the final week of the year.
*Remember the top 2nd half team gets $40 in chits per player, 2nd place gets $20 in chits per player and 3rd gets $5 in chits per player.
The first wildcard spot is and has been firmly held onto by Drawshank Redemption for almost the entire year and with a 25.5 point lead over the next eligible team, and over 43 points ahead of the 2nd wild card team Drawshank is in the playoffs. If they happen to pull out the top spot in the second half the top wild card spot will likely fall to Hack Attack. There’s a slim chance that Young Gunz could take it, but seeing as Drawshank and Hack Attack are playing each other, Young Gunz will likely hold on to their 2nd wild card spot.
The second wild card spot was up for grabs with Putt 4 Dough only 1.5 points back and Unfinished Business 7.5 points back. Putt 4 Dough decided to literally give it up, going into winter hibernation as 4 of their players no showed last week, two of them in the same group. As a result they yielded the most points of the season to the lucky recipient, 6 Pack, with 80.5 points and dropped from 1.5 points back to 41.5 points back. Unfinished Business had a respectable outing with 53.5 points, but since the top three teams all scored above 62 points last week, Unfinished Businesses’ business is finished. They are 17.5 points out of the second wild card spot, behind Young Gunz. Not an impossible swing, but get your foot wedges out, you’re gonna need ‘em.
Predictions:
Unfortunately, outside of the teams vying for the top spot of the second half, there is very little drama going into the last week this year. Drive 4 Show, Drawshank Redemption and Hack Attack all have wrapped up their spots in the playoffs unless they pull a 4 person no show like Putt 4 Dough last week. So long as Unfinished Business doesn’t outscore Young Gunz by 18 points, the fourth and final spot will go to Young Gunz. I predict my guys on Drawshank will pull out the 2nd half victory beating Hack Attack by more than 2 points. Hack Attack takes the first wild card and Young Gunz takes the second.
