8-Man Senior Team Victorious

The Brookview 8-Man Senior Team Tuesday defeated the team from Meadowbrook 9 1/2 – 2 1/2. Although the score seems dominating, most of the matches were very close. To highlight, leading off the team of Tom Hansen / Larry Hahka won their match 3-0. Batting second, the team of Steve Slivken / Forrest Nelson won a tighter than it seems match 2 1/2 – 1/2. Batting third, Steve Hartmann / Mark Kraus won their match 3-0, and batting cleanup the team of Charlie Tsatsos / Steve Houtz lost a tough one 2-1. Congrats to Mr. Hartmann for firing a 70 after getting a cortisone shot Monday. Maybe all seniors 55-plus should get a shot or two. After multiple cancellations due to flooding, etc. our final regular season match will be at Meadowbrook Tuesday, July 30th. Then hopefully on to the playoffs. Stay tuned!

Sr. Metro Team pulls out narrow win

At Green Haven playing against a tough Wirth team, we pull out a 13-11 win.
@Jim-Sanford shoots a smooth 78 (net 72) and is only able to get 2 points against his opponents same net 72.
@Steve-Slivken Shoots a net 73 and is shut out versus a net 69
@Jim-Husnik shoots a net 71 and brings home 5 points
Anchor @Ted-Roberts also nets a 71 and takes all 6.

The Win moves us up to 4th place overall, just 17 behind the leaders. Again, none of the 3 teams ahead of us have yet to have their bye.

Week 12 Results

What a great Week. Putt for Dough climbed to the top of its division by winning 7 of its last 8 matches. Fairway to Heaven increased their overall lead against the rest of the field with a very strong performance. Next week we look to add another beautiful day and we are in a conference match up so good luck to every one. Flash of Greatness Jesse Doughty wins another skin? For all those High handicappers you have a few more weeks to get skins because I can guarantee next year we will have to change the game up a bit. I think possibly 2 low handicappers won a skin this year…. One of them won because I picked his name out of a hat.

16-Man Team Still Hot

The 16-Man Team brought the heat in it’s 7/14 match at Brookview. This was the first of the home-and-home second round match with the visiting Ponds at Battle Creek. The boys won 17.5 of the 24 available points on the day, positioning well for the next match on August 4th on the road.

The highlight of the day came out of the Krasen/Gallagher game where the two combined for 8 birdies and a best ball 67 to win a close match against some strong opponents.

If we can keep it going next month, we have a great shot at the playoffs.

Sr. Metro Team Dominates

Brookview Team wins 23 – 1 versus a vacant team from Keller.
Keller has a hard time fielding a team, and they sent one golfer who had to quit due to an injury.

BMGA’s finest still had to play to win points, and they did.

Week 11 Results

1st off If your filling out the scorecard this may be hard to believe, but First and Last Names are important! 2nd Just put the score in the boxes and make sure its legible. 3rd Know your team number.

There are two Divisions in this league and from the looks of it the dominating teams are all in the Golden Valley Conference. Every team in the Bassett Creek Conference lost last week. Luckily for Bassett Creek we are playing in our Division this week so someone will win. Who’s your Caddy still keeps dominating every week. Fairway to Heaven is 1 point behind and thats with there best stick Wagner going down with a back injury after the 4th hole. CTB is also a man down now that Longo (aka Captain America) was just diagnosed with a bone spur Saturday afternoon. Week 12 looks like some warm and Sunny weather see you on the patio.

Week 10 Results

What a great night for golf. It’s hard to remember everything that happened, but who can forget Eric Beitlich. I couldn’t tell you what stroke he was on, but the ball ended 10 feet from Wendy pouring beers on the 2nd level patio. The divisions are actually getting a little tighter. Range Balls next week will have a interesting matchup having to play against Mid Round Crisis. I believe at least 5 or 6 guys on that team are in Scotland? Can someone say Forfeit? Or perhaps the remaining guys will be taking carts leaving there first round early so they can make the late tee times. Should be fun to watch.
